
Adding Album Pages in Squarespace 7.0: A Comprehensive Guide for Music Content
Album pages are a feature in version 7.0 that let you create custom audio track collections on your website.
Adding an Album Page:
- Open the Pages panel and click +
- Select Album
- Enter a page title
Setting Up Your Album:
- Add Album Art
- Drag and drop or upload .jpg, .png, or .gif files
- Click the image uploader to browse files
- Album Information
- Add artist name
- Customize album title (separate from page title)
- Write a description for social media links and additional information
- Adding Tracks:
- Click Add Track in the album preview
- Upload .mp3 or .m4a files (max 20 MB)
- Set sharing preferences
- Click Save or Save & Publish
Track Management:
- Titles limited to 200 characters
- Add artist, description, and custom URL per track
- Use Categories and Tags for organization
- Drag and drop to rearrange tracks
- Move tracks between albums
- Delete using trash can icon
Sharing Features:
- Push to connected social media accounts
- Visitors can share via Share button
- Track posts link back to album page
Page Customization:
- Edit page description for SEO
- Add banner/featured images
- Manage categories and tags
- Style fonts and buttons via Site Styles
- Customize album text color
- Toggle Share button visibility
Limitations:
- 60 tracks maximum per album
- One album per page
- Not suitable for podcasting
- No direct sales functionality
- No commenting feature
Album pages can be added to indexes in these template families:
- Flatiron
- Montauk
- Pacific
- Supply
- Tremont
- York
Style settings apply across all album pages for consistent appearance. Text formatting follows site's body font style, with album titles using Heading 1 font.
