Set and adjust image focal points to control centering within your layouts.

When Focal Points Work

Version 7.1 Supported Areas:

  • Image blocks
  • Gallery sections
  • Featured images
  • Section backgrounds

Version 7.0 Supported Areas:

  • Image blocks
  • Gallery blocks/pages
  • Featured images
  • Most banner images

Limitations

Focal points don't work effectively for:

  • Background images in Site Styles (v7.0)
  • Parallax scrolling images (especially short/wide)
  • Videos

How to Set a Focal Point

  1. Open the image block or section
  2. Hover to see the focal point circle
  3. Click and drag to set the focus area
  4. Changes save automatically

Best Practices

Image Container Shapes:

  • Square containers with landscape images allow more horizontal adjustment
  • Matching container and image shapes limit focal point impact
  • Gallery images can be adjusted in main Gallery Page or section editor

For Optimal Results:

  • Follow image formatting guidelines
  • Consider responsive design impact
  • Adjust container sizes as needed
  • Use image editor for gallery optimization
  • Make Gallery Page adjustments for Gallery Block images

Troubleshooting

If images appear blurry or distorted:

  • Review formatting guidelines
  • Check responsive design settings
  • Verify container size settings
  • Confirm image quality meets requirements

Remember that focal point effectiveness varies based on image dimensions and container shape. Wider images in narrower containers offer more adjustment flexibility.
