Apple Pay enables secure, quick payments for physical products through Safari on supported devices. Research shows a 2.6% higher completion rate in stores with Apple Pay compared to card-only payments.

When customers use Apple Pay, billing and shipping information auto-populate during checkout, streamlining the purchase process. The feature activates automatically with Squarespace Payments or Stripe integration, with no additional transaction fees.

Availability Requirements:

  • Order total must exceed $0.00
  • Physical products only (no services, downloads, or subscriptions)
  • Customer must use Safari browser
  • Device must support Apple Pay

Customer Experience:

  • Apple Pay button appears during checkout for eligible transactions
  • Billing information auto-populates
  • Shipping costs and taxes display after clicking Apple Pay

Supported Devices:

Important Limitations:

  • In-store pickup automatically selected if shipping address is incompatible
  • Free shipping discounts must apply to all shipping options
  • Only works with physical products
  • Transactions appear as regular credit card payments in payment records

Testing Apple Pay: Test the feature by placing an order through Safari on a supported device. While this charges your linked card, you can cancel and refund the order (note: Squarespace Commerce fee may be non-refundable).

To manage Apple Pay:

  1. Access Store Payments panel
  2. Select Squarespace Payments or Stripe
  3. Toggle "Accept Apple Pay" ON/OFF as needed
