Sell your products effectively on Facebook and Instagram by syncing your Squarespace store with Meta's platforms. This integration allows you to sell and advertise directly through posts, stories, and shops on your social media profiles.

Important Update: Meta Store Policy Changes (April 2024) U.S. merchants must now enable checkout directly on Facebook and Instagram. Product tags will no longer link back to Squarespace for purchase completion.

Current Integration Features:

  • One-way sync from Squarespace to Meta Business Manager
  • Product details update automatically every hour
  • Sales on Meta platforms won't sync with Squarespace
  • Separate inventory management required
  • Orders won't appear in Squarespace analytics

Prerequisites:

  • Physical products only (no digital or service items)
  • Products must include:
    • Image (minimum 500x500px)
    • Name
    • Description
  • Site title required
  • Compliance with Meta's commerce policies
  • No site-wide password protection
  • Instagram Business account (if selling on Instagram)

Required Accounts:

  • Business Manager account
  • Facebook business page
  • Meta Pixel
  • Ad account

Syncing Process:

  1. Open Products panel on Facebook and Instagram
  2. Click Connect with Facebook
  3. Log in with your personal account
  4. Select your business page
  5. Choose desired features:
    • Facebook Ads
    • Facebook Shops
    • Instagram Shopping
  6. Follow Facebook's setup instructions

What Syncs:

  • Product ID
  • Title
  • Description
  • Main image
  • Lowest price
  • Availability status

Managing Your Store:

  • Shops appear after Meta's review (24-48 hours)
  • Must use Checkout on Facebook and Instagram
  • Regular product updates sync hourly

  • Track performance in Meta Ads Manager

Instagram Product Tagging:

  • Available after shop approval
  • New products available for tagging after hourly sync
  • Can be set up without Meta Pixel using data feed

Disconnecting Products:

  1. Delete products from Meta Business Manager catalog
  2. Remove tagged products from posts/ads
  3. Open Products panel
  4. Click Disconnect twice
