How to Set Up a Squarespace Blog for Podcast Hosting: Complete Guide
Starting a podcast requires a blog page to publish and distribute episodes through Apple Podcasts and other services. Here's how to set up your podcast properly:
Before You Begin:
- Use Squarespace's RSS feed format (compatible with Apple Podcasts standards)
- First blog post must contain an audio block
- RSS feed can include up to 300 recent episodes
Initial Setup:
- Create a Blog Page
- Add a new blog page or use existing one
- Set a permanent URL slug (changing it later may cause syndication issues)
- Configure Podcast Settings
- Open Pages panel
- Click gear icon next to blog title
- Select Feed tab
- Click Podcasting
- Enter Essential Information
- Title
- Author

- Log in to Podcasts Connect
- Validate feed

- Wait for approval email
Publishing Tips:
- Each blog post with audio becomes an episode
- Only first audio block per post appears in feed
- Updates take approximately 24 hours
- Create separate blog pages for multiple podcasts
For best results, ensure all required fields are filled correctly and maintain consistent posting schedule. Multiple podcasts require separate blog pages and syndication submissions.
