Managing your site's domain in one place becomes easier when you transfer your HostGator domain to Squarespace. Follow these steps to complete the transfer:

Before Starting:

• Review pricing and billing details
• Check domain transfer requirements
• Verify timing for domain transfer
• Plan for moving custom email addresses

Step 1: Access HostGator Account

1. Visit HostGator website
2. Log into your account
3. Click "Domains" in the sidebar

Step 2: Verify Domain Contact Information

1. Click "More" next to your domain
2. Select "Contact Info"
3. Review Administrative tab details
4. Update if needed and save changes

Step 3: Unlock Domain and Get EPP Code

1. Go to Domain Overview
2. Click "Change" next to Locking
3. Turn Locking OFF
4. Request and save EPP Key

Step 4: Initiate Transfer in Squarespace

1. Open Domains panel
2. Click "Use a domain I own"
3. Enter domain name
4. Click "Transfer domain"
5. Enter EPP code

Step 5: Confirm Registration Details

1. Review auto-populated WHOIS information
2. Verify email address
3. Update information if needed
4. Save and continue

Step 6: Review Payment Information

1. Confirm payment method
2. Enter new card details if needed
3. Save and continue

Step 7: Complete Order

1. Review transfer details
2. Check pricing
3. Verify terms and expiration date
4. Confirm purchase

Step 8: Monitor Transfer Status

1. Check Domains panel for "Transfer pending"
2. Look for error messages
3. Address any issues:
   • Unlock domain if locked
   • Verify authorization code if rejected

Step 9: Review DNS Settings (Optional)

1. Access DNS settings
2. Review existing records
3. Delete unnecessary records
4. Add new records if needed

Step 10: Wait for Completion

1. Allow up to 15 days for transfer
2. Watch for confirmation email
3. Check domain status in Domains panel

After Transfer:

• Cancel HostGator account if desired
• Set as primary domain
• Enable SSL
• Add custom email through Google Workspace
• Register additional domains if needed

Remember: Keep existing DNS records if you use custom email, and wait until transfer completion before making DNS changes or adding new integrations.
