Obsolete billing plans, also known as legacy plans, are subscription plans that customers have from previous versions of Squarespace. While these plans are no longer available for new sign-ups, existing customers can continue using them.

To check your current plan:

  • Access your Billing panel in your site settings
  • Review your active subscriptions and billing details

Key information about obsolete plans:

  • You'll lose access to your obsolete plan if you:

    • Change to a current billing plan
    • Let your subscription expire
    • Cancel your service
    • Reactivate an expired site
  • Switching to current plans typically provides:

    • Access to newer features
    • Updated platform capabilities
    • Modern tools and improvements

Important considerations:

  1. Cover Page Plan (discontinued November 2016):

    • Existing subscriptions continue
    • Cannot convert to website subscription
    • No reversion possible after expiration
  2. Squarespace Select (discontinued November 2021):

    • Support continues for active subscriptions
    • Enterprise solutions now available for business customers

Legacy Pricing:

  • Many older plans are cheaper than current offerings
  • Customers can maintain lower rates by keeping subscriptions active
  • Price differences reflect platform improvements and new features

Note: When switching from an obsolete plan, carefully review the features included in current plans to ensure they match your needs. Some features may not be available in comparable current plans, particularly for e-commerce functionality.
