Registration Requirements

To register or transfer a .it domain, you must have a mailing address in one of these locations:

  • European Economic Area member nations
  • Republic of San Marino
  • Swiss Confederation
  • United Kingdom
  • Vatican City

  • European Resident (excluding Italy)

Key Features & Rules

Expiration Policy:

  • Tucows domains: 10-day grace period followed by 30-day redemption period
  • Key-Systems domains: No grace period; immediate expiration

Important Notes:

  • No 5-day cancellation grace period
  • No refunds available
  • Nameserver editing not permitted
  • Domain transfers include one year of registration
  • New renewal date set to transfer completion date

Whois Privacy

Only available for:

  • Italian Citizens
  • European residents (excluding Italy)
  • Freelance Workers (Italy)
