The Contacts panel provides a centralized hub for managing all your customer relationships, including subscribers, members, donors, and form submitters. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to use it effectively:

Viewing and Managing Contacts

To view contacts:

  • Open the Contacts panel to see all contacts with their email addresses and names
  • Filter by tags or use the search function to find specific contacts
  • Click on any contact to view their engagement details
  • Edit contact names using the pencil icon
  • View specific groups through Lists and segments

Adding Subscribers

Import multiple subscribers:

  • Upload a .csv file through the Contacts panel
  • Select or create an email list
  • Confirm marketing permissions
  • Review and import

Add individual subscribers:

  • Click "Add subscribers"
  • Enter name and email
  • Select or create a list
  • Confirm marketing permissions

Managing Tags

  • Add tags to organize contacts (up to 250 unique tags)
  • Create new tags or select existing ones
  • Manage tags through the ... menu
  • Rename or delete tags as needed

Filtering and Segments

Filter by:

  • Account status
  • Subscriber details
  • Customer data
  • Member details
  • Donor details

Save up to five segments for future use by:

  • Selecting desired tags and filters
  • Clicking Apply
  • Saving with a custom name

Contact Management Features

  • Add internal notes for customer details
  • Export contacts to .csv files
  • View weekly email subscriber reports
  • Manage marketing preferences
  • Edit contact information
  • Delete contacts (permanent action)

Important Considerations:

  • Cannot delete contacts with active subscriptions
  • Deleting contacts affects order history visibility
  • Customer accounts are deleted with contact deletion
  • Bulk deletions require contacting support

The Contacts panel helps maintain organized customer relationships while providing tools for effective communication and data management.
