Suspended Features List & Timeline: Squarespace Platform Updates

A comprehensive list of suspended Squarespace features and integrations that are no longer available for new implementations.

The following features have been discontinued:

Recent Suspensions (2023-2024):

  • 500 px Block (December 2023)
  • Foursquare Block (December 2023)
  • Video Studio App (September 2023)
  • Twitter Block (April 2023)
  • "Escape" Key Shortcut (January 2024)

Mobile Apps and Tools:

  • Analytics App (June 2021)
  • Commerce App (September 2021)
  • Blog App (July 2019)
  • Portfolio App (March 2019)
  • Note App (October 2018)
  • Data Analytics App for Apple Watch (November 2016)

Content Blocks and Social Integration:

  • Adobe Creative Cloud Editor (December 2018)
  • Facebook Tabs (January 2019)
  • Google+ Share Button (November 2018)
  • Author List Block (September 2016)
  • Category List Block (September 2016)
  • Monthly List Block (September 2016)
  • Tag List Block (September 2016)
  • StumbleUpon Social Media Icon (January 2019)
  • Vine Social Media Icon (January 2019)

Other Discontinued Features:

  • Quick Publish Bookmarklet (July 2019)
  • Email Publication (December 2016)
  • Account linked to Rdio (May 2016)
  • Start App (February 2017)

Important Notes:

  • Existing suspended blocks will continue to function but cannot be re-added if deleted
  • Archiving blocks can replace discontinued list blocks
  • Mobile editing is available through the Squarespace app
  • Technical support remains available for suspended features
  • Bug fixes will be addressed, but no new features will be added

Templates and Plans:

  • Version 7.1 sites maintain access to all features despite template removal
  • Version 7.0 template switching is limited to previously installed templates
  • Legacy billing plans have been updated to accommodate new features

Support continues for all suspended features, with maintenance updates provided as needed, though no new functionality will be added.
