Old Payment Plans: Legacy Subscription Guide for Squarespace
Understanding Old Payment Plans in Website Subscriptions
You can identify your current payment plan by checking your Billing panel in your account settings. If you're using a legacy plan, you may continue using it as long as your subscription remains active.
Plan Transitions and Changes
When transitioning from an old plan to a current one:
- You'll gain access to newer platform features
- Some features may become unavailable depending on the new plan
- You cannot revert to the previous plan once changed
- The transition occurs when you change plans or reactivate an expired site
Legacy Cover Page Plans
For users with existing Cover Page-only subscriptions:
- Continued use is permitted with active subscriptions
- Plan changes are not available
- Expired subscriptions cannot be reactivated
- New websites require a new subscription under current plans
Squarespace Select Status
As of November 2021:
- New Squarespace Select plan subscriptions are no longer available
- Existing Select plan users receive continued support with active subscriptions
- Enterprise solutions are available for businesses needing customized plans
Price Differences
Legacy plans may be more economical than current offerings because:
- Pricing adjustments occur regularly
- Existing subscribers can maintain lower rates
- Active subscriptions continue at original pricing
- Plan changes will trigger current market rates
Remember: Once you switch from a legacy plan to a current plan, you cannot return to the old pricing structure. Choose your plan changes carefully to ensure you maintain necessary features for your website.
