Countries Where Squarespace Collects VAT
Standard VAT rates apply to all Squarespace payments for residents of:
- Indonesia
- Ireland
- Kenya
- South Africa
- Switzerland
Zero-rated VAT applies to businesses with valid VAT numbers in:
- EU countries (except Ireland)
- Egypt
- Iceland
- Moldova
- Norway
- Saudi Arabia
- South Korea
- Thailand
- United Kingdom

- Domain purchases, renewals, and transfers

Adding VAT Information to Your Account
For existing subscriptions:
- Access Payment Information panel
- Enter billing address
- Select eligible country
- Check VAT registration box
- Enter business name and VAT number (include two-letter prefix)
- Save changes
For new subscriptions:
- Complete VAT fields during checkout
- Both business name and VAT number required
Requesting VAT Exemption
Requirements:
- Active paid subscription
- Valid exemption certificate
- Documentation in English (or with English translation)
Submit exemption requests with:
- Subject: VAT - [Type of Exemption]
- Site URL
- Required documentation
Special Considerations
Ireland Residents:
- VAT charged regardless of VAT registration status
- Possible tax reclaim through local authorities
Switzerland Exemptions:
- Available for institutional beneficiaries
