A background video can add dynamic visual effects to your site. Here's how to add and optimize them effectively:

Video Requirements:

  • Maximum length: 60 seconds (for uploaded videos)
  • Ideal frame rate: 60 fps
  • Recommended resolution: 1080p
  • Minimum bitrate: 3 Mbps
  • Format: Landscape (16:9) recommended

Best Practices:

  • Limit to 2 background videos per page for faster loading
  • Keep videos under 40 seconds
  • Minimize camera movement for smoother playback
  • Center main subjects with space for cropping
  • Avoid quick cuts and excessive panning
  • Use videos that complement rather than distract from content
  • Add a mobile fallback image

Adding Background Videos:

  1. Prepare Video Source:
  • Upload directly (version 7.1)
  • Use YouTube (public/unlisted, embedding enabled)
  • Use Vimeo (requires paid account)
  1. Add to Your Site:
  • Open Pages panel
  • Click Edit
  • Select section and click Background
  • Choose Video source
  • Customize settings
  1. Customize Options:
  • Select background width (Full Bleed or Inset)
  • Apply filters and overlay colors
  • Adjust playback speed
  • Set mobile fallback image

Note: Video quality depends on hosting service and viewer's connection. Videos may not display on mobile devices or in power-saving mode.

  • Cover pages
  • Lock screens

To remove videos:

  • Switch to image background
  • Delete video (version 7.1)
