Watch videos play instantly when visitors load your page. Uploaded videos can be configured for autoplay through customizable playback settings in the video block.

For third-party hosted videos, you'll need to modify the host settings and use custom embed codes, except for background videos which autoplay automatically.

Important Considerations:

  • Add only one autoplay video per page for optimal user experience
  • Video banners work on mobile devices, but other videos won't autoplay
  • Banners with video and .gif images autoplay on page load

Browser Autoplay Restrictions:

Most modern browsers restrict autoplay to protect user experience:

  • Safari and Firefox: Block videos with sound (users can adjust settings)
  • Chrome: Blocks videos with sound per their autoplay policy

Autoplay Embed Codes for Popular Services:

YouTube:

  • Add
    ?autoplay=1
    to URL end
  • If URL has existing parameters, use
    &autoplay=1

Vimeo:

  • Add
    ?autoplay=1
    to URL end
  • Follow Vimeo's documentation for detailed steps

Animoto:

  • Check "Autoplay" in Embedded Video tab
  • Copy the generated embed code

Background Videos:

  • Autoplay by default
  • Always loop without sound
  • Function differently from standard videos

Index Gallery Support:

Autoplay works in gallery pages for these template families:

  • Momentum
  • Pacific

Note: Grid layout index pages don't support videos in thumbnail grids, but gallery pages within the index can include autoplay videos.
