First, you'll need to verify your account meets the upgrade conditions. You can upgrade if you have:

  • A Business Starter/Standard plan with monthly subscription
  • Legacy G Suite Basic plan with monthly subscription
  • No pending payments
  • A verified domain
  • No recent migrations during current billing period
  • An active, non-suspended account
  • Agreed to Terms of Service
  • Not using SEPA for payments

To upgrade your Google Workspace plan:

  1. Open the Google Workspace panel
  2. Click "Change" next to your current plan
  3. Select your new plan
  4. Review the pricing and changes
  5. Confirm the upgrade

Important upgrade considerations:

  • Costs are pro-rated based on unused time from old plan
  • A new billing cycle starts on upgrade day
  • Free trial users lose remaining trial period
  • Business Plus plan requires migration to Google

For legacy G Suite Basic users:

  1. Check features you'll lose by comparing plans in Admin console
  2. Verify user storage stays under 30GB limits
  3. Export organization data if needed
  4. Choose Business Standard or Plus to maintain features
  5. Follow upgrade steps above

After upgrading:

  • Changes take effect immediately
  • You'll gain access to new features and limits
  • Storage and user limits update automatically
