Log into Squarespace and navigate to the Domains panel. Click "I already have a domain" and enter your IONOS domain name.

Step 1: Initial Setup in Squarespace

• Open Domains panel
• Click "I already have a domain"
• Enter domain name and click "Connect Domain"
• Select "Other" from dropdown
• Click Continue when prompted
• Keep the DNS settings panel open for reference

Step 2: Access IONOS DNS Settings

• Log into IONOS account
• Locate your domain
• Click Actions > DNS
• Prepare to copy records from Squarespace panel

Step 3: Remove Existing Records

• Set filter to "Show all records"
• Delete all AAAA and A records
• Confirm deletions

Step 4: Add First CNAME Record

• Click "Add Record" > CNAME
• Host Name: Copy unique code from Squarespace
• Points to: verify.squarespace.com
• TTL: 1 hour
• Save changes

Step 5: Add Second CNAME Record

• Click "Add Record" > CNAME
• Host Name: www
• Points to: ext-cust.squarespace.com
• TTL: 1 hour
• Save changes

Note: If you receive a CNAME error, delete existing www records and retry after an hour.

Step 6: Add A Records Add four A records with these settings:

• Host Name: @ (for all records)
• TTL: 1 hour
• Points to (one for each):
  • 198.185.159.144
  • 198.185.159.145
  • 198.49.23.144
  • 198.49.23.145

Important: Don't delete Mail/Email host records as they manage email services.

Step 7: Wait for Connection

• Allow 24-72 hours for full propagation
• Monitor progress in Squarespace DNS settings
• Check domain status in Domains panel

Troubleshooting:

• Use DNS Records Checker if verification fails
• Contact IONOS support for account-specific issues
• Verify all records match exactly as specified
