Finding Your Domain Provider

Your domain provider (registrar) hosts your domain name like www.yourdomain.com. Knowing your provider is essential for domain transfers, connecting to services, and setting up MX records.

Here are three reliable methods to find your domain provider:

  1. Using ICANN Lookup Tool
  • Visit ICANN's search tool
  • Enter your domain name
  • Look for "Registrar" and "Registrar URL" in results
  • The registrar listed is typically your domain provider
  1. Check Domain Control Panel
  • Log into your website hosting account
  • Navigate to domain settings
  • Look for registrar information
  1. Search Whois Records
  • Use any Whois lookup service
  • Enter your domain name
  • Find registrar information in results

For Google Domains Users: All Google Domains have been transferred to Squarespace Domains. To manage your domain:

  • Log in to Squarespace using your Google Domains email
  • Access the domains panel
  • Update billing information as needed

For Squarespace Domain Users: To verify your provider in Squarespace:

  • Open the domains control panel
  • Check the Provider column
  • Look for either "Squarespace Domains LLC" or "Tucows"

Important Notes:

  • If you see a reseller listed, try logging in through them first
  • Squarespace partners with third-party companies for domain services
  • Some domains may be managed through Tucows while still being Squarespace domains

After identifying your provider, you can:

  • Transfer or connect domains to other services
  • Set up MX records for email services
  • Contact your provider for account support
  • Manage domain settings and renewals

Remember to keep your domain registration information updated and maintain access to the email associated with your domain registration.
