
How to Cancel Your Website Subscription: Step-by-Step Guide
Web subscriptions can be canceled through two main methods: immediate cancellation or auto-renew disablement. Here's what you need to know:
Before Canceling
- Export your content to save it for future use
- Note that cancellation affects:
- Your online store (if on a Commerce plan)
- Customer subscriptions (will need manual restart)
- Annual plans canceled within 14 days receive a prorated refund minus $20 domain fee
Cancellation Options
- Immediate Cancellation:
- Access Billing panel
- Click Website/Commerce/Squarespace under Subscriptions
- Select "Cancel subscription"
- Follow the promdown menu prompts
- Disable Auto-renew:
- Access Billing panel
- Click Website/Store under Subscriptions
- Turn off "Renew automatically" toggle
Post-Cancellation Access
You'll retain access to:
- Billing and invoice history
- Domain management

Other Subscriptions
- Domains: Can be transferred or canceled separately
- Digital Products: 30-day pause state
- Google Workspace: Continues billing separately

- Acuity Scheduling: Stays active independently
Refund Policy
- Full refunds: Available within 14 days of first annual payment
- No refunds for:
- Monthly plans
- Payments after 14 days
- Renewal payments
- Processing time: 3-10 business days
Search Engine Impact
Your site will gradually disappear from search results after cancellation, as it's no longer indexed. Timing varies by search engine.
Note: Website subscriptions cannot be transferred between sites. A new subscription must be started for a different site.
