Connect your Namecheap domain to Squarespace using two methods: Nameserver Connect (recommended) or DNS Connect.

Nameserver Connect Method

1. Open Domains menu and click "Use External Domain"
2. Enter your domain name and click Connect Domain
3. Select "Get Started" in the Namecheap connection menu
4. In your Namecheap Domain Dashboard:
   • Open Nameservers
   • Select Custom DNS
   • Add these nameservers:
     • connect1.squarespacedns.com
     • connect2.squarespacedns.com
5. Save changes and click Finish in Squarespace

DNS Connect Method

1. Open Domains menu and click "Use External Domain"
2. Enter domain name and click Connect Domain
3. Select "No, Use DNS Records"
4. Choose Namecheap from dropdown
5. Sign in to your Namecheap account
6. Click Connect and wait for completion

Important Notes

• Connection takes 24-72 hours to complete
• Monitor progress in Squarespace DNS settings
• Temporary errors are normal during connection period

Troubleshooting

If domain isn't connecting after 72 hours:

1. Reset nameservers in Namecheap to defaults
2. Disconnect domain from Squarespace
3. Reconnect manually following above steps

DNS Record Issues

Use the DNS Record Checker Tool in Squarespace if you see "Domain Ownership Cannot Be Verified" message to identify incorrect records.

For domain-specific issues, contact Namecheap support directly and mention you're connecting to Squarespace for faster assistance.

Remember to maintain default nameservers before starting the connection process to avoid errors.
