
How to Delete Pages and Blog Posts in Squarespace: Step-by-Step Guide
Delete pages or blog posts quickly and securely from your site by following these steps:
Temporary Delete - Pages
- Pages remain in trash for 30 days
- Alternative options: Move to Unlinked section or deactivate the page
- Important: Deleting a page removes all content, products (shop pages), and dropdown menus
- Create URL redirects to prevent 404 errors
- To delete homepage, set new homepage first
Delete a Page - Two Methods:
- Using Pages Panel:
- Open Pages panel
- Hover over page
- Click trash icon
- Confirm deletion

- Open Pages panel
- Select page
- Click settings
- Choose Delete
- Confirm deletion

Delete Blog Posts:
- Posts stay in recycle bin for 30 days
- Open Pages panel
- Select blog page
- Hover over post
- Click (...) then Delete
- Confirm deletion
Delete Multiple Posts:
- Hold Ctrl (Command on Mac)
- Select multiple posts
- Click Delete/Remove
- Confirm deletion
Empty Trash Permanently:
- Click trash/recycle bin icon
- Select Empty trash/recycle bin
- Confirm deletion
- Note: This action cannot be undone
Mobile App Instructions:
- Tap More > Pages
- Select page/post
- Tap trash icon or swipe left
- Confirm deletion
- Empty trash: More > Pages > Trash > Empty trash
Remember to create URL redirects after deletion to maintain good user experience and prevent 404 errors.
