How to Link an Enom Domain to Squarespace: Step-by-Step Guide

Connect your Enom domain to Squarespace effectively by following these steps:

Step 1 - Start the Squarespace Connection

  • Open Domains panel
  • Click "Use my domain"
  • Enter your domain name and click the arrow
  • Click "Connect Domain"
  • Select Enom from dropdown
  • Click "Connect Domain" again
  • Click "Continue" in the displayed message
  • Keep the new panel with DNS records open for reference

Step 2 - Access Enom Settings

  • Log in to www.enom.com
  • Click "Registered" in Domains section
  • Click "Host Records"

Step 3 - Add First CNAME Record

  • Select "CNAME (Alias)" as Record Type
  • Copy unique code from Squarespace's Host column
  • Paste code in Host Name field
  • Enter verify.squarespace.com in Address field

Step 4 - Add Second CNAME Record

  • Select "CNAME (Alias)" as Record Type
  • Enter "www" in Host Name field
  • Type ext-cust.squarespace.com in Address field

Step 5 - Add Four A-Records Create records with @ (none) in Host Name field and "A (Address)" as Record Type, pointing to:

  • 198.185.159.144
  • 198.185.159.145
  • 198.49.23.144
  • 198.49.23.145

Click Save after adding all records

Important Notes:

  • Don't delete Mail/Email host records
  • Remove any blank host records
  • Delete @ host only if it doesn't match guide specifications

Step 6 - Wait for Connection

  • Allow 24-72 hours for changes to take effect
  • Monitor progress in Squarespace DNS Settings
  • Green labels will appear as domain connects
  • Domain will show as "Linked" when complete

Troubleshooting:

  • Use DNS checker tool if "Could not verify domain ownership" appears
  • Check DNS Settings panel for specific record corrections
  • Contact Enom support for account-specific issues

Remember: DNS changes typically take 24-72 hours to propagate fully. During this time, you may see temporary errors when accessing your domain.
