Guide to Point a Squarespace Domain

A Squarespace domain can point to an external site while maintaining its original URL in the browser's address bar. This is useful when you need to connect your domain to another platform or create a subdomain for different brand purposes.

Prerequisites:

  • Use Squarespace name servers
  • Cannot use integrated domains
  • Domain must be Squarespace-managed

Point to Non-Squarespace Site:

  1. Add CNAME Record:
  • Open Domains panel > Select domain
  • Click DNS > DNS Settings
  • Delete Squarespace Default Values
  • Add Custom Record
  • Select CNAME type
  • Host: www
  • Data: Provider's URL
  • Save changes
