How to Recover Deleted Pages and Blog Posts in Squarespace

Recovery of deleted pages and blog posts is possible within the last 30 days after deletion. After this period, content cannot be restored.

Restoring Pages

  1. Open Pages panel
  2. Click Trash icon at bottom
  3. Hover over page title and click Restore
  4. Confirm restoration
  5. Find restored page in "Unlinked" section

Restoring Blog Posts

Version 7.1:

  1. Open Pages panel
  2. Click blog page
  3. Click Trash icon
  4. Hover over post, click ..., then Restore
  5. Confirm restoration

Version 7.0:

  1. Open Pages panel
  2. Click blog page
  3. Click Trash icon
  4. Hover over post, click Restore
  5. Confirm restoration

Republishing Restored Posts

Version 7.1:

  1. Click post in side panel
  2. Hover over preview, click Edit
  3. Make changes
  4. Click Publish

Version 7.0:

  1. Hover over post in side panel
  2. Click Edit
  3. Make changes
  4. Click Save and Publish

Non-Recoverable Content

  • Text (after editor closes)
  • Blocks (after editor closes)
  • Collection items (except blog posts)
  • Page sections
  • Pages/posts deleted over 30 days ago
  • Member sites
  • Code from code blocks, Code Injection panel, or custom CSS panel

Tips

  • Use Undo while editor is open
  • Save custom code in external documents
  • Code blocks within restored pages/posts will also be restored
  • Member site pages move to Unlinked section upon deletion
  • Deleted member sites require manual recreation
