Create and style an announcement bar to display important messages across your pages. This feature helps communicate promotions, sales, or critical updates to your visitors.

Creating an Announcement Bar:

On Computer:

1. Open Announcement Bar panel
2. Select "Enable Announcement Bar"
3. Enter your message text (can include bold, italic, and links)
4. Add a clickthrough URL if desired
5. Click Save to publish

On Squarespace App:

1. Tap More → Marketing → Announcement Bar
2. Enable the Show toggle
3. Enter your message
4. Add links if needed
5. Tap Save to publish

Styling Options:

Version 7.1:

• Font Customization:

  1. Edit page → Site styles → Fonts → Assign Styles
  2. Select "Announcement Bar" → Text
  3. Choose preset styles or customize
  4. Save changes

• Color Customization:

  1. Edit page → Site styles → Colors
  2. Edit theme settings
  3. Adjust Background and Text colors under Announcement Bar
  4. Save changes

Version 7.0:

1. Open Site styles panel
2. Locate Announcement Bar settings
3. Modify background color, text color, and font
4. Save changes

Important Notes:

• Appears on all pages except cover pages
• Can't be customized per page
• Follows header color theme when transparent
• Matches site's default theme when header is hidden

Resetting Visibility:

• Use Reset Visibility button when logged in
• Edit and save changes to restore visibility for all visitors

Disabling the Bar:

On Computer:

1. Open Announcement bar panel
2. Select "Disable announcement bar"

On Squarespace App:

1. More → Marketing → Announcement Bar
2. Turn off Show toggle
3. Save changes
