How to Report Malware Using Bing Webmaster Tools

Bing Webmaster Tools enables your website to appear in Bing search results. Here's how to verify and set up your site correctly.

Prerequisites

  • Remove any passwords from your homepage
  • Ensure third-party domains are properly connected (wait 72 hours after connection)
  • Use only published sites (trial sites won't work)
  • Verify your primary domain if you have multiple domains

Adding Your Site to Bing Webmaster Tools

  1. Log in to Bing Webmaster Tools
  2. Enter your domain in the "Add a site" field
  3. Click Add

Note: You can also import verified sites from Google Search Console.

Adding Site Information

  1. Complete the "About your site" form
  2. Add your sitemap
  3. Provide a site-related email address (required)
  4. Set Bing contact preferences
  5. Click Save

Verification Methods

Choose your verification method based on your plan:

Tag Method (For Business/Commerce Plans):

  1. Copy the HTML code from the verification page
  2. Log into your site
  3. Access Code Injection panel
  4. Paste the HTML tag in the Header field

  1. Save changes
  2. Return to Bing Webmaster Tools
  3. Click Verify

CNAME Method (For Personal Plans):

  1. Copy the CNAME record
  2. Access your Domains dashboard
  3. Select your domain
  4. Click DNS > Add a record
  5. Choose CNAME from Type dropdown
  6. Paste the CNAME record in Host field
  7. Enter verify.bing.com in Data field
  8. Save changes
  9. Return to Bing Webmaster Tools
  10. Click Verify

After successful verification, you'll access the Bing Webmaster Tools dashboard where you can manage your site's search presence.
