Nameserver Registration (also known as glue records) allows you to host your domain on your own servers by linking your nameserver's IP address to your TLD record. This is particularly useful when hosting your server on platforms like Cloudflare instead of your domain provider's nameservers.

Prerequisites:

  • Own server infrastructure
  • Server administration knowledge
  • Desire to host domain on non-provider servers

How to Add Glue Records:

  1. Gather Required Information:
  • Server hostname
  • Server IP address (contact your server provider if needed)
  1. Configuration Steps:
  • Access your domains panel
  • Select target domain
  • Navigate to DNS > Nameserver Record
  • Click "Add Host Record"
  • Enter hostname and IP address
  • Save changes

Note: Allow 24-72 hours for changes to propagate fully. After adding glue records, configure custom nameservers for your domain.

How to Remove Glue Records:

Important: Only remove glue records after ensuring nameservers point to an alternative destination. Removal may cause 24-72 hour service disruption.

Steps:

  1. Access domains panel
  2. Select domain
  3. Navigate to DNS > Domain Nameservers
  4. Click Nameserver Registration
  5. Delete host record using trash icon
  6. Save changes

Remember: Changes typically take 24-72 hours to fully propagate through the DNS system.

Best Practices:

  • Keep server information readily available
  • Plan changes during low-traffic periods
  • Maintain backup DNS configuration
  • Monitor DNS propagation after changes
