Shipping fees determine how you send products to customers. Here's everything you need to know about setting them up effectively:

Available Shipping Options:

  • Flat rate: Fixed amount per order plus optional per-item fees
  • Weight-based rates: Pricing based on total order weight
  • Carrier-calculated shipping: Real-time rates from carriers (US domestic only, requires Advanced Commerce plan)
  • Free shipping: No cost to customer

Adding a Delivery Option:

  1. Open Shipping panel
  2. Click "Add a Delivery Option"
  3. Select shipping type
  4. Name your option and set rates
  5. Configure delivery zones if needed

Create custom profiles for products requiring special shipping:

  1. Go to Products > Processing Profiles
  2. Click "Add a Custom Profile"
  3. Name the profile
  4. Select shipping options
  5. Assign to specific products

Managing Multiple Processing Profiles:

  • Orders may split if products have different profiles
  • Customers check out once but receive multiple confirmations
  • Each split order requires separate processing

Important Considerations:

  • Physical products require at least one shipping option
  • Create shipping zones for location-specific rates
  • Deleted options still apply to existing orders
  • Non-US carriers should use flat rate shipping
  • Digital products don't incur shipping fees

Additional Features:

  • Import shipping profiles from Etsy
  • Connect third-party shipping extensions
  • Set up local delivery or in-store pickup
  • Create free shipping offers

Troubleshooting:

  • Check product container dimensions for carrier-calculated shipping
  • Ensure shipping zones cover all intended delivery areas
  • Verify processing profiles are correctly assigned
