Squarespace lets you import and export various types of content to manage your website efficiently. Here's what you need to know about handling different content types:

Content Import Sources

  • WordPress, Blogger, and Tumblr
  • Squarespace 5 (for version 7.0 sites only)
  • For Commerce: Shopify, Etsy, Big Cartel, and CSV files

Importing Blog Content

  1. Access Import and Export Content panel
  2. Click Import
  3. Choose your source
  4. Enable imported pages
  5. Optionally move pages to main navigation

Product Import Limits

  • Version 7.1: Up to 10,000 products per Store page
  • Version 7.0: Up to 200 products per Store page
  • Use multiple pages to import additional products

Images and Videos

  • Automatically imported with WordPress, Blogger, or Tumblr content
  • Product images import with product information
  • Metadata import available for gallery images
  • Individual downloads available through Resource Library
  • Bulk image/video export not supported

Mailing Lists

  • Import contacts via CSV files from other email services
  • Export individual mailing lists as CSV files
  • Export all contacts including customers, subscribers, members, and donors

Important Notes:

  • No content syncing between platforms
  • Product transfers only possible between Squarespace sites
  • Import success varies by platform and content type
  • Imported content creates static copies
  • Can't export content from one Squarespace site to another

For optimal results, import content only if you plan to maintain it exclusively on Squarespace moving forward.
