Importing Products from CSV in Squarespace
Add or update products in bulk by importing a .csv file, supporting up to 10,000 products on version 7.1 sites and 200 products on version 7.0 sites.
Key steps:
- Download the .csv template:
- For moving products between sites: Export from original site
- For bulk editing: Export existing products
- For new products: Download template from Products panel
- Edit the spreadsheet following required formatting:
- Product details (title, description, price, etc.)
- Variants (size, color, etc.)
- Categories and tags
- Stock levels and visibility
- Import the file:
- Click Import in Products panel
- Drag and drop completed .csv
- Review results and fix any errors
- Click Save
Important considerations:
- Ensure Product Page URLs match existing store pages
- Categories must exist before importing
- Images need direct web URLs ending in image extensions
- Limited to 250 variants per product
- Cannot import customers or subscriptions
- Cannot schedule products via import

- Missing/mismatched URL slugs
- Non-existent categories
- Incorrect image URLs
- Formatting problems (bullets, hyperlinks, special characters)
- Spreadsheet export settings using wrong separators
Fix most import failures by copying data to a new spreadsheet before importing again.
