How to Modify Titles and Descriptions

  1. Open "Pages" menu
  2. Hover over page title
  3. Click settings icon
  4. Update fields in General tab

Hiding Options

Templates with custom hide features:

  • Adirondack: "Show page titles and descriptions" toggle
  • Five: Adjust "Banner content" settings
  • Momentum: "Page title/description" option (excludes index pages)
  • Montauk: "Hide page title" and "Hide page banner" options
  • Pacific: "Show page title" toggle
  • Tremont: Individual toggles for different page elements
  • York: Page-type specific show/hide controls

Alternative Display Methods

For templates without automatic display:

  • Add custom layout pages with heading text
  • Use individual page headers where supported
  • Add content sections at top of stacked index pages

SEO Considerations

  • SEO titles and descriptions are separate from page titles/descriptions
  • Used only in search results, never displayed on website
  • Can be optimized for search engines while maintaining different on-site display
  • Managed through SEO tab in page settings

Version 7.1 Specifics

  • Page descriptions cannot be added
  • Page titles can be edited but rarely display on website
  • Visible in browser tabs and search results when no SEO title exists
  • Shop pages can display titles above category navigation when enabled
