Google Domains migrated to Squarespace on September 7, 2023, and all domain migrations are now complete. Here's what you need to know:

Managing Your Domain

If you had a Google Domain, log in to Squarespace to manage it:

  • Existing Squarespace users: Log in normally at squarespace.com/login
  • New users: Use "Continue with Google" with your Google Domains email address
  • If you can't log in: Click "Can't log in" and follow the verification process

Domain Management Features

Through your Squarespace domains dashboard, you can manage:

  • Billing and renewals
  • Contact information
  • DNS records
  • Nameservers and DNSSEC
  • Whois privacy

Billing Information

  • Domains auto-renew annually
  • Existing multi-year registrations remain intact
  • Renewal notifications sent 15 days in advance
  • Standard Squarespace rates apply from September 7, 2024

Important Notes

  • No website subscription required
  • Original registration time maintained
  • Domain transfers available anytime (no 60-day lock)
  • Google services (Analytics, Search Console, Ads) continue working
  • Domain and email forwarding maintained with proper setup

Technical Limitations

  • Dynamic DNS (DDNS) not supported
  • ACME TLS/SSL certificates not supported
  • Not compatible with Squarespace 5 sites

Service continuity requires updating DNS records for domain and email forwarding. Contact your nameserver provider if using custom nameservers.
