Available variables:

  • %s - Site title
  • %p - Page's SEO title (or page title if no SEO title exists)
  • %i - Collection item's SEO title (or item title if no SEO title exists)

Page Title Format:

  • Applies to all pages except homepage and collection items
  • Default format: Page Title — Site Name (%p — %s)
  • Must include %p for titles to appear in browser tabs

Homepage Title Format:

  • Controls homepage appearance in browsers and search results
  • Default format: Site Title (%s)
  • %p variable works differently for homepages:
    • Pulls previous SEO title if one existed
    • Uses page title if no SEO title was set

Collection Item Title Format:

  • Controls how blog posts, products, events appear
  • Default format: Item Title — Site Name (%i — %s)
  • Must include %i for titles to display properly

Best Practices:

Brand-First Format:

  • Place %s at the beginning
  • Ideal for established brands
  • Example: %s | %p

Content-First Format:

  • Place %p or %i at the beginning
  • Better for search optimization
  • Helps distinguish multiple browser tabs
  • Example: %p - %s

You can add custom text to any format for additional optimization. For example: "%s | Digital Marketing Agency" or "%p | Your Brand Name".
