Afterpay and Clearpay are "buy now, pay later" payment solutions that allow customers to split purchases into four interest-free installments over eight weeks. As a merchant, you receive the full payment upfront.

Eligibility Requirements:

For Merchants:

• Afterpay: Available in US, Canada (except Quebec), New Zealand, and Australia
• Clearpay: Available in UK only
• Must use Squarespace Payments or Stripe
• Must sell physical products only
• Must meet Stripe's eligibility requirements

For Customers:

• Must be in the same country as the merchant
• Must meet Afterpay/Clearpay eligibility criteria
• Must be under their credit limit
• Order total must be over $1/£1 and under country spending limit
• Local pickup orders not eligible

How to Enable:

For Squarespace Payments:

1. Open Payments panel
2. Click Manage Settings
3. Select Payment Methods tab
4. Toggle Afterpay/Clearpay on

For Stripe:

1. Connect Stripe account
2. Open Payments panel
3. Click Stripe
4. Toggle Afterpay/Clearpay on

Processing Fees:

• Afterpay: 6% + $0.30 per transaction
• Clearpay: 6% + £0.30 per transaction
• Additional Squarespace fees may apply based on your plan

Customer Checkout Process:

1. Select Afterpay/Clearpay at checkout
2. Enter billing address
3. Log in or create account
4. Review payment plan
5. Confirm transaction

Refunds:

• Full refunds return payment to Afterpay/Clearpay
• Partial refunds adjust customer payment plan
• Processing fees are non-refundable

To Disable:

1. Open Payments panel
2. Click Manage Settings
3. Select Payment Methods tab
4. Toggle Afterpay/Clearpay off
