Alert: 65% of Small Business Projects Track Zero Revenue Milestones

Project management in Squarespace allows you to track client relationships, revenue, and project milestones efficiently. Here's how to use these features effectively:

Lead Collection Add a contact form to gather potential client information, including:

  • Referral source
  • Project timeline
  • Budget expectations
  • Custom requirements

Form submissions appear in the Contacts panel under Lists and segments. Access submissions by:

  1. Opening Lists and segments panel
  2. Clicking Form senders
  3. Selecting the contact to review their submissions

Creating Projects To start a new project:

  1. Open Projects panel
  2. Click Create > Project
  3. Search for existing client or add new contact
  4. Name the project and click Create

Project Management Features Each project displays:

  • Total revenue collected
  • Recent activity
  • Upcoming milestones
  • Client notes
  • Important dates
  • Invoice history
  • Form submissions

Milestones Add project milestones:

  1. Click Add milestone
  2. Enter description
  3. Set date
  4. Click Save

Mark milestones complete by checking the box, or edit/delete using the pencil/trash icons.

Client Documentation Send branded:

  • Proposals
  • Quotes
  • Contracts

Invoicing Send invoices directly through the platform:

  • Clients receive via email
  • Secure payment page
  • Payment processor fees apply
  • No additional transaction fees

Project Deletion To remove a project:

  1. Open project
  2. Scroll to Delete project
  3. Confirm deletion

Note: Client contacts and form submissions remain after project deletion, but deleted projects cannot be recovered.

Remember to connect a payment processor before sending invoices to ensure smooth financial transactions with clients.
