Projects in Squarespace help you manage client services, track revenue, and handle important milestones. You can manage everything from lead collection to payment processing in one place.
Collecting Leads
Add a contact form to your website with customizable fields like:
- Budget
- Service date
- Referral source
Form submissions appear in Lists & Segments menu, where you can:
- Review submissions in Form Submitters section
- View individual contact details
- Access form responses directly through Contacts menu
Creating Projects
To start a new project:
- Go to Projects menu
- Click Create > Project
- Search existing contacts or add new client
- Link form submissions (optional)
- Name your project
Managing Project Details
Each project displays:
- Total revenue collected
- Latest activity
- Upcoming milestones
- Client notes
- Important dates
- Invoice history
- Form submissions
Adding Milestones
Create project checkpoints:
- Click Add Milestone
- Enter description
- Set date
- Mark complete when done
Milestones can be edited or deleted as needed.
Handling Documents and Payments
Send professional documents:
- Proposals
- Estimates
- Contracts
Process payments through invoices:
- Connect payment processor
- Create and send invoice
- Client pays via secure payment page
Deleting Projects
To remove a project:
- Open project
- Scroll to bottom
- Click Delete Project
- Confirm deletion
Note: Ensure no accepted documents or invoices exist before deletion. Client contacts and form submissions remain intact.
Remember: Projects can only be linked to one client and cannot be reassigned to another contact.
