DNS record management involves configuring settings that connect your domain to various services and enhance website functionality. Here's a comprehensive guide on managing DNS records in Squarespace.

Eligibility for DNS Management

You can modify DNS records in Squarespace if you have:

  • A Squarespace-managed domain
  • A third-party domain linked via Nameserver Connect

Note: For domains connected via DNS Connect, manage records through your third-party provider.

Accessing DNS Settings

  1. Navigate to the domains dashboard
  2. Select your domain name
  3. Click DNS Settings

Adding Custom DNS Records

Squarespace supports these DNS record types:

  • A and AAAA Records (IPv4 and IPv6)
  • ALIAS Records
  • CNAME Records
  • DKIM and SPF Records
  • DMARC Records
  • MX Records (email)
  • SRV Records
  • CAA Records
  • DS and DNSKEY Records
  • HTTPS Records
  • PTR Records
  • SSHFP Records
  • TLSA Records
  • NS Records
  • TXT Records

Deleting DNS Records

  1. Open domains dashboard
  2. Click domain name
  3. Navigate to DNS Settings
  4. Scroll to Custom Records
  5. Hover over record and click trash icon
  6. Click Save

  • DNS changes may take 24-72 hours to propagate
  • Verify record details before making changes
  • Keep records of your original settings
