Gift cards provide customers with a convenient way to send digital codes that can be used for purchases in your online store. Here's how they work:

Purchasing a Gift Card

1. Select a Gift Card:

• Choose from available gift card values in the store
• Click "Buy" to proceed to payment

2. Choose Delivery Method:

• Send to recipient's email: Requires recipient name, email, message (80 chars max), and sender name
• Send to buyer's email: Needs recipient name, message, and sender name

3. Complete Purchase:

• Enter billing information
• Verify details
• Confirm payment
• Recipient gets email with gift card code

Using Gift Cards

Customers can use gift cards for:

• Physical products
• Digital downloads
• Services
• Fixed-amount subscription plans

Gift cards cover:

• Product cost
• Taxes
• Shipping fees
• Transaction fees

Important Notes:

• Multiple gift cards can be used per order
• Partial amounts can be used, saving remaining balance
• Cannot be used for subscription products
• Remaining balance displays on receipts

In-Person Gift Card Usage:

1. Open Commerce in Squarespace app
2. Select "Apply Gift Card Code"
3. Enter code and amount
4. Confirm usage
5. Both merchant and customer receive email receipts

Gift card transactions appear under Point of Sale channel in sales analytics.
