You can change your Squarespace domain name within 5 days of registration or set up a new primary domain. Here's how to do it:

5-Day Grace Period Rules

  • Changes allowed within 5 days of registration
  • Grace period is calculated by the minute
  • After 5 days, domain name becomes permanent
  • Most country code domains (like .co.uk, .de) don't have a grace period

Important Notes:

  • Primary domains can't be deleted unless another domain is set as primary first
  • Domain changes after 5 days require switching to a different primary domain
  • Refunds are issued for cancellations within the grace period

How to Change Your Domain Name:

  1. Cancel Current Domain (Within 5 Days):
  • Navigate to domain dashboard
  • Select the domain to change
  • Click [Delete Domain]
  • Wait for refund processing
  1. Register New Domain:
  • Go to domain dashboard
  • Choose and register new domain
  • Set as primary domain if desired

Special Cases:

  • For ccTLDs (.com.au, .de): No grace period available; disable auto-renewal to cancel
  • Resold domains: Cancel through original reseller's account
  • Google Workspace domains: Manage through Google Workspace settings

Remember to update your SEO settings and ensure your site remains accessible after changing domains. The primary domain settings can be modified anytime to maintain your online presence.
