How to Connect a Squarespace Domain to Your Website
Connect a domain purchased from Squarespace to your site while maintaining separate billing details. The domain's billing and permissions remain independent from the website after connection.
Before You Begin
Your domain must be:
- Currently parked (not connected to another site)
- On the same Squarespace account as the website
- Managed by you with administrative permissions
Connect Your Domain
- Go to Domains dashboard
- Select your domain
- Click [Website]
- Click [Connect Existing Website]
- Choose your target site
- Click [Next] then [Confirm]
Connect a Subdomain
Subdomains are treated like third-party domains and require DNS record configuration. See "Specify a Squarespace Domain" for detailed steps.
Change Domain Connection
- Access Domains dashboard
- Select your domain
- Click [Website]
- Click [Change Connection]
- Choose new target site
- Click [Next] then [Confirm]
Remove Domain Connection
- Navigate to Domains dashboard
- Select your domain
- Click [Website]
- Click [Change Connection]
- Select [Park This Domain]
- Click [Next] then [Confirm]
Important Notes
- Cannot connect domain to specific pages (but can forward to them)
- Must remove third-party records before reconnecting to Squarespace
- Consider domain migration for unified billing and permissions
