
How to Find and Replace Demo Content in Squarespace Sites
Replacing demo content in your Squarespace site helps bring your unique vision to life. Here's how to locate, replace, and remove demo content effectively.
Locating Demo Content:
- Open the Pages panel
- Look for pages with "Demo" labels
- Check page icons to identify page types (Layout, Blog, etc.)

Replacing Demo Content:
Version 7.1:
- Pages: Click page title > Edit
- Page Sections: Click Edit > modify demo blocks
- Layout Pages: Hover over preview > Edit
- Collection Pages: Click page title > Copy Page
- Banner Images: Hover over page > Click Banner > Delete
Version 7.0:
- Similar process, with slight interface variations

Removing Demo Content:
- In Pages panel, hover over page > click trash icon
- Add new pages using + icon
- Mobile: Tap More > Pages > swipe left to delete
Important Notes:
- Remove all demo content before switching to paid subscription
- Demo pages use noindex tags until edited
- Stock images available through Getty Images and Unsplash
- Demo content cannot be used on live sites (Terms of Service)
- Restore deleted demo pages within 30 days
- Template changes in version 7.0 replace existing demo content
Template Restoration:
- Check URL slugs
- Switch to new template
- Uninstall previous template
- Reinstall original template
