Third-Party Domain Support Guide

Getting support from your domain provider is crucial when transferring or connecting a domain to Squarespace. Here's how to effectively communicate with them.

Domain Transfer Support

Checking Transfer Eligibility "Is my domain [your-domain] eligible for transfer to Squarespace? Requirements include:

  • TLD must be on Squarespace's accepted list
  • Not a premium registered domain
  • 60+ days since registration/transfer
  • Active and not expired
  • Domain unlocked
  • Less than 9 years remaining on registration"

Service Verification "Are any services (like email) linked to [your-domain] that will stop working after transferring to Squarespace?"

Transfer Status Check "I initiated a transfer for [your-domain] to Squarespace. Has the transfer been recognized and the domain unlocked?"

Failed Transfer Troubleshooting "The transfer for [your-domain] failed. Could you inform me why it was denied?"
