Discounts in your online store follow specific rules and exceptions to ensure fair pricing and prevent excessive stacking. Here's what you need to know about managing them effectively:

Discount Basics:

• Discounts apply to order subtotals only (not taxes or shipping)
• Cannot exceed the order subtotal
• Expired discounts will show an error message
• Limited to 100 automatic trigger discounts

Combining Discounts:

• Can combine: Different category discounts
• Cannot combine: Same item discounts
• Fixed amount discounts take priority over percentage discounts
• Free shipping discounts always apply
• Single items cannot have multiple discounts

Making Edits:

Via Computer:

• Access Discounts panel
• Click desired discount
• Modify name, dates, codes, limits, and applicable items
• Delete option available at bottom

Via App:

• Open Commerce tab
• Tap Discounts panel
• Select discount to edit
• Update details and tap Done
• Delete via scroll-down or [...] menu

Tracking Usage:

• View usage counts in Discounts panel
• Subscription purchases count as single use
• Invalid discounts can be edited and reactivated

Troubleshooting Tips:

• Verify order eligibility
• Check for duplicate codes
• Confirm shipping method selection
• Try deleting and recreating discount
• Contact support if issues persist

Gift cards can be used alongside any discount promotion.

For subscription items, original discount terms apply to all future payments, regardless of later edits.

Note: Editing discount codes doesn't automatically update existing campaign materials.
