
Manage and View Your Squarespace Customer Details
Manage your customers effectively by organizing their sales activity and communicating about promotions or orders. Customer contacts are automatically created after payment and can be managed through the Contacts panel.
Key Features:
- View order history, email addresses, and total spending
- Sort customers by orders, spending, and other metrics
- Add notes and tags for better organization
Important Notes:
- Manual customer creation or import is not available
- Pending payments are not included in customer contacts
- Membership site subscribers are listed as Customers
Customer Accounts: Enable customer accounts to allow users to save payment methods, shipping addresses, and order information. Accounts help streamline the checkout process and are indicated by a checkmark in the Customers panel.
Finding and Viewing Customers:
- Open Lists and segments panel
- Click Customers
- Sort by name, email, or last order date
- Use filters for spending amounts
- Search by name or email
- Click any customer for detailed information
Customer Details Include:
- Name and email address
- Total spending
- Last order date
- Average order value
- Order number
- Shipping address
- Saved addresses (for account holders)
Managing Customer Information:
Tags:
- Create up to 250 unique tags
- Add searchable internal tags
- Manage tags through the Contacts panel
- Tags remain invisible to customers
Internal Notes:
- Track special requests and interactions
- Add notes in customer details
- View previous notes with contributor info
- Edit or delete notes as needed
Order History:
- View recent orders
- Manage fulfillment, cancellations, and refunds
- Print receipts and packing slips
- Note: Canceled orders are not included
Export Customer Data:
- Select customer group
- Click export icon
- Confirm export
- Receive .csv file with comprehensive customer data
The export includes contact details, order history, addresses, and tags.

Q: Can customers log into their account? A: Yes, when Customer accounts are enabled, users can create accounts during checkout or via the Login link.
Q: Can I add new customer contacts? A: No, contacts are only generated through orders or account creation.
Q: Why are there duplicate customers? A: Different email addresses used at checkout create separate contacts. Merging contacts is not currently possible.
Q: Why don't I see a shipping address? A: Digital product orders don't require shipping addresses, so they won't appear.
Q: Can I view customer information with an old Commerce plan? A: No, customer information is only available with current Basic Commerce, Advanced Commerce, Professional, and Premium plans.
