Managing Domains Registered via Google Workspace
If you registered a domain through Google Workspace, it's managed jointly by Google Workspace and Squarespace as a reseller domain. Here's what you need to know about managing your domain effectively.
Identifying Your Reseller Domain
To check if your domain is registered through a reseller:
- Open your Domains dashboard
- Click on the domain name
- Look under the domain's expiration date - the reseller's name will appear there

Domain Management Responsibilities
Google Workspace handles:
- Billing and renewals
- Payment information updates
- Cancellations
- Refunds
Squarespace manages:
- DNS records
- Domain forwarding
- Contact information updates
- Name server changes
- WHOIS protection
- Domain suspensions
- Domain locking/unlocking
- Domain transfers
First-Time Squarespace Login
- Log out of any existing Squarespace accounts
- Visit squarespace.com/login
- Click "Continue with Google"
- Select your Google Workspace account
- Follow the login prompts
Domain Verification
- Watch for an email titled "[Action Required] Verify the contact information for your Squarespace domain"
- Click the verification link within 15 days to prevent domain suspension
- The email goes to the contact address provided during registration
Connecting to Squarespace Sites
You can connect your reseller domain to a Squarespace site, but:
- Domain billing remains separate from website billing
- The domain cannot be moved to a Squarespace site
- Billing continues through Google Workspace
Important Notes
- You cannot transfer a Google Workspace-registered domain to Squarespace
- Canceling Google Workspace doesn't automatically cancel your domain
- Domain cancellation within 5 days of registration may be possible through Google Workspace support
