Over 200 Fonts Being Withdrawn: What You Need to Know About Font Availability Changes
When certain fonts become unavailable, they can't be used in new sites or new locations on existing sites. Here's what you need to know about handling withdrawn fonts and finding suitable alternatives.
Duplicating Sites with Withdrawn Fonts
If you receive an error message when trying to duplicate a site with withdrawn fonts, you'll need to replace these fonts before proceeding. There's no automated way to detect withdrawn fonts, so you'll need to check manually against the comprehensive list below.
Replacing Withdrawn Fonts
For Version 7.1:
- Open Site Styles
- Click > next to Font Family
- Locate withdrawn fonts in Headings, Paragraphs, Buttons, or Miscellaneous
- Select new fonts for each affected setting
For Version 7.0:
- Open Site Styles
- Find style tweaks using withdrawn fonts
- Select new fonts for each affected setting
Note: If you have many custom fonts and can't locate all withdrawn ones, you can choose a new font package, but this will reset all font customizations.
Custom CSS Considerations
If withdrawn fonts were added using custom CSS, remove them from the CSS editor before attempting site duplication.

When selecting replacement fonts, choose options that closely match the style and character of the original font to maintain your site's aesthetic. Consider factors like:
- Font weight and thickness
- Character spacing
- Overall style (serif, sans-serif, display, etc.)
- Readability at different sizes
For specific font recommendations and alternatives, consult with design professionals or use font matching tools to find the closest available options.
