Setting a new homepage:

  1. Open the Pages panel
  2. Click the desired page title
  3. Scroll to find "Set as Homepage"
  4. Click Confirm
  5. Save your changes

After setting your homepage:

  • Consider deleting or renaming the old homepage
  • Move the new homepage to the top of navigation
  • Optionally hide it from navigation by moving it to "No Links"

Troubleshooting homepage issues:

If you see a 404 error, check these common causes:

  1. Disabled homepage

    • Solution: Set another page as temporary homepage, then re-enable and reset the original
  2. Deleted template homepage (Version 7.0)

    • Solution: Either publish the preview template or restore the deleted homepage

Important notes:

  • Pages within an index cannot be set as homepage (Version 7.0)
  • Visitors can return to homepage by clicking site title/logo
  • Custom 404 messages will display instead of default errors when configured

For optimal homepage performance:

  • Ensure the page remains active
  • Verify proper template configuration
  • Maintain consistent navigation structure
  • Consider SEO best practices
  • Regular testing for accessibility

This setup ensures visitors can easily find and navigate from your homepage, improving overall site usability and user experience.
