
Top Security Tips: Understanding and Managing Your Website Activity Log
The Activity Log panel in Squarespace Analytics lets you track detailed visitor information from the past seven days. This feature provides insights into your site's traffic and visitor behavior.
Key Information Tracked:
- Date and time of visits
- Visitor IP addresses
- Referral sources
- Browser versions
- Operating systems
- Geographic locations
Important Limitations:
- Only shows data from the last 7 days
- Tracks visitor activity, not admin actions
- Browser privacy settings may limit data collection
- Cannot block specific IP addresses
Viewing the Activity Log:
- Open Analytics panel
- Click Interaction
- Select Activity Log
The log displays the 50 most recent entries, with additional entries available by clicking "Load More." Each entry represents a single page visit.
Search Capabilities:
- Filter by IP address
- Search by page title
- Find specific referrers
Privacy Considerations: To comply with privacy laws, you can disable the Activity Log:
- Access Cookie and Visitor Data panel
- Scroll to Activity Log option
- Toggle the switch off
Note: Disabling the log removes all existing data. Re-enabling will only collect new data going forward.
