All you need to know about receiving and managing 1099-K forms through Squarespace Payments.

A 1099-K form reports credit card, debit card, and third-party network payments received from selling goods or services. This applies exclusively to U.S.-based merchants.

Qualifying for a 1099-K Form:

  • Federal filing threshold: $5,000 in transactions
  • State requirements may be lower
  • Must be using Squarespace Payments
  • Must be located in the United States

Form Delivery:

  • Mailed to your address by January 31st
  • Takes up to 10 business days for delivery
  • Requires correct legal name, address, and tax ID (SSN/EIN/ITIN)

Updating Your Mailing Address:

  1. Open Settings panel
  2. Click "Manage Settings" under Accept Credit Cards
  3. Review Contact Information
  4. Edit personal details
  5. Update home address
  6. Submit changes

Important Considerations:

  • Forms are issued per payment processor (Stripe and Squarespace Payments separately)
  • Reported amounts reflect gross payments before fees, discounts, and taxes
  • For incorrect information after receiving the form, contact Customer Support
  • Export sales data from Accounting panel to reconcile fees and costs

If you don't receive an expected 1099-K form or need to update information, contact Squarespace Customer Support immediately for assistance.

To verify transactions and ensure accurate reporting, regularly review your accounting data and maintain updated contact information in your payment settings.
