Squarespace Blog Creation Guide

Squarespace blogs consist of two main components: blog pages (landing pages displaying multiple posts) and blog entries (individual post pages). Here's how to set up and manage your Squarespace blog effectively.

Creating a Blog Page

  1. Open Pages menu and click the + icon
  2. Select Blog under Collections
  3. Choose a layout
  4. Enter page title
  5. Customize settings (posts per page, SEO, social sharing)

Creating Blog Posts

  1. Navigate to your blog page
  2. Click + to add new post
  3. Enter title (max 200 characters)
  4. Add content blocks
  5. Configure post settings:
    • Featured image
    • Excerpt
    • Tags and categories
    • Comments
    • SEO settings
    • Social sharing options

Managing Posts

  • Edit existing posts via Pages menu
  • Save posts as drafts or publish immediately
  • Schedule posts for future publication
  • Set post status (Draft, Published, Scheduled, Needs Review)

Remember: Blog entries use the Classic Editor and can't be edited with XML-RPC clients.
