A comprehensive guide for all payment-related processes and plans for Acuity Scheduling through Squarespace accounts.

Subscription Basics

Acuity subscriptions are managed through your Squarespace account and charged to your site subscription payment card. The subscription operates independently from your website subscription, continuing even if your site subscription expires.

Plans and Costs

Three main plans are available, with features varying by tier. Additional costs may include:

  • Payment processor fees (charged by third-party providers)
  • SMS messaging (free for you, standard rates apply to clients)

All plans may be subject to local and national taxes, added at checkout.

Free Trial Access

New users receive a trial period with full access to Emerging plan features. After the trial:

  • You're only charged upon subscribing to a plan
  • All data remains saved
  • Client booking requires an active subscription

Starting a Subscription

To activate through Squarespace:

  1. Access Main Menu > Scheduling
  2. Choose upgrade option
  3. Select billing cycle (monthly/annual)
  4. Pick desired plan
  5. Confirm payment

European Economic Area (EEA) users may need additional purchase authorization.

Subscription Management

Access the Billing panel to view:

  • Current plan details
  • Activation date
  • Billing cycle
  • Renewal information
  • Auto-renewal status

The Invoices panel shows detailed payment history, including prorated amounts for plan changes.

Auto-Renewal and Cancellation

Subscriptions auto-renew by default to prevent service interruption. Annual subscribers receive a 15-day renewal notice. To disable auto-renewal:

Via Squarespace:

  1. Open Billing panel
  2. Click Scheduling under Subscriptions
  3. Disable Auto-Renew

For standalone Acuity:

  1. Access Main Menu
  2. Click subscription card's three dots
  3. Select Billing
  4. Uncheck Auto-Renew

Payment Issues

If renewal charges fail:

  • Account enters 15-day grace period
  • Multiple charge attempts occur
  • Card updates accepted during grace period
  • Service stops after grace period expires

Consider Enterprise plans for:

  • High appointment volumes
